Seven weeks of distribution were enough for the film Muzika to become
the most seen Slovak film in the Slovak cinemas after 2000. At present,
after ten weeks of being screened in the cinemas, the film’s audience
rating is 30,029 people.
In April and May, Muzika was the 3rd
most seen film in the Slovak cinemas; in April it followed Step Up 2 and
Horton films, and in May it followed Step Up 2 and Indiana Jones films.
It is noteworthy that all other American blockbusters such as Iron Man,
Speed Racer, or dependent films of lower quality such as The Bucket
List, and all new Czech films such as Vaclav, O zivot, Nejkrajsi hadanka,
O rodicich a detech, Na vlastni nebezpeci did not even approach the
audience rating of Muzika – their rating ranges from 15 % to 60 % of
that of MUZIKA.
In May, the Slovak Film and TV Academy (SFTA)
nominated MUZIKA for the European Film Academy Awards. In a short time, a
contract with BAVARIA Media should be signed concerning the license for
the worldwide distribution of the film. It is the first Slovak film
after 1989 to be distributed by one of the largest German and European
distribution companies. |
